Board of directors
Flanders Investment & Trade is an externally independent agency under public law with a Board of Directors in which representatives of the government and the business community jointly monitor and help shape how FIT carries out its duties.
This legal form offers the agency the necessary flexibility to quickly pick up signals from the business world and to be able to respond effectively to rapidly evolving global conditions.

Competences
The powers of the Board of Directors include:
- establishing the multi-annual operational plan
- adopting the annual report on the implementation of the business plan
- the annual planning and medium and long-term strategy
- the budget and financial reporting
- the organizational structure
The board of directors meets at least once every three months.
